This week’s post is from Groom Style Magazine and is just for the special man in your life. Here are the 10 things every groom should have:

  1. One day off a week from wedding talk- By taking just one day off a week, you are letting him rejuvenate his mind and priorities. You’ll notice that he will be more interested in wedding talk when it isn’t constant.
  2. Tasks that he can really own- Guys are typically left-brained, which means they can be quite helpful when given tasks that let them use numbers and statistics. Guest list and RSVPs, anyone?
  3. His-and-hers iPads- This will let you work simultaneously, but with efficiency. By dividing up tasks (and trusting him to do a good job), you will feel pressure taken off you and be able to enjoy more time NOT wedding planning.
  4. A tux or a suit he feels great in- You know how important it is that you feel good in what you wear. Men are no different. Get his opinion on his wedding day attire before you place the tux order. He will have an opinion, no doubt!
  5. A best man- Just like you need your best girl by your side on your big day, he needs his best guy. By each having friends that support you, your wedding day will feel complete.
  6. Time to relax before the wedding- Make sure and leave that last hour before you walk down the aisle free from appointments. Whether you decide to spend that hour apart or together, it will be critical to take some time to clear your heads, drink in the experience and set your mind on your wedding.
  7. A killer toast- The groom typically offers the last toast. Once everyone else has had the chance to offer their well-wishes, the groom, on behalf of the couple, will take the mic to offer the final words before the dance. A killer toast has the perfect amount of wit and sincerity. And, like most things in life, practice makes perfect!
  8. Heartfelt vows- Even if you decide to recite vows or write your own, making them heartfelt is key! Your guests will know if your vows aren’t genuine, so be true to yourselves, be vulnerable and be honest! Your guests will appreciate your honest, heartfelt vows and so will you looking back on your wedding ceremony.
  9. Smooth dance moves- Another “must” that involves practice. Youtube is a groom’s best friend if he needs to update his dance moves.
  10. A post-wedding massage- Lastly, but certainly not least, treat yourselves to a relaxing day at the spa. What a great way to start your marriage!
