Everything you need to know on picking the perfect wedding day jewels!

Now that you’ve said YES to that dress, it’s time to talk sparkly things. Finding the perfect jewelry can sometimes feel like an overwhelming task, but if you follow these 4 simple rules you’ll be checking that item off your VOW Wedding List in no time!

If you have embellishments on your dress in gold, stick to gold based jewelry, and vice versa with silver, pearls, or rose gold. If your dress does not have embellishments, refer to the following:

White Gown- Pearls and platinum based jewels will adorn a crisp white dress best.

Slightly Off-White Gown- Gold, silver, rose gold, and pearl all work well.

Ivory/Champagne Gown- Gold jewelry will look best with this creamy tint of fabric.

V-Neck- Drop down earrings or a long pendant necklace work great with this universally flattering neckline.

Halter- Adding a necklace to this type of dress will take away from the beauty of it. Stick to dangling or chandelier earrings and a bold cuff bracelet.

Illusion- If you have delicate lace or mesh adorning the top of your dress, opt for small, studded earrings or a fun headpiece. Choose from a crystal headband, birdcage veil, or a ring of flowers.

Off the Shoulders- With this neckline, you really can’t go wrong with any style of necklace. From drop downs, to statement pieces, or single and double stands – they all work!

When it comes to finding the perfect jewelry for your bridesmaids, don’t over think it. If your maids are all wearing the same dress, mix it up by getting them all different necklaces or earrings. If they are wearing different dresses, use the guidelines above to choose the right pieces for each of their unique necklines. Just remember, if you have silver, pearls, or rose gold for your dress, carry that same color palette over to their jewels as well. This will create a wonderfully balanced look between you and all of your favorite women.

The most important thing to remember when choosing the perfect trinkets for your special day is that they should reflect you, and your style. If you’re not comfortable with large, chandelier earrings, stick to small studs. Love a bold statement necklace? Go for it! If you’re comfortable in what you’re rocking, you’re guaranteed to sparkle!
