Boudoir photography is new sexy trend for brides to give to their grooms as a gift on their wedding day.  The photos are usually taken with very few, if any, clothes on, but the style is more of an implied nude.  The bride may be positioned on her stomach or the photo taken from the back, so even though she may not be wearing anything, she also isn’t showing anything.  The photos should be classy sexy – not R rated!

Where should we take the pictures?

You and your photographer can talk over the details of the location.  Sometimes your photographer will rent a hotel room, a private B&B, or come into their studio to allow you the opportunity to get ready and take your photos in private.

What should I wear?     

Wear something that makes you feel sexy – that can be as simple as a white collared men’s dress shirt, black lingerie, or a lace robe.  Be sure to bring a variety of items for you to change into (and out of), but also bring a pair of sexy high heels and some necklaces as props.

How to get comfortable?

Posing half naked in front of someone you may not know very well might not be the easiest thing to do.  Consider bringing a friend to make you feel more relaxed (maybe some champagne too…).  The shoot may take a couple of hours and the first few photos may be pretty stiff.  But after a little bit of joking around and getting more relaxed, it will be easier to be comfortable in front of the camera.

What should I do with the photos after?

Many photographers can help you make a mini photo book to give to your groom as part of his wedding present.  You can also give a photo to your husband as gifts throughout your marriage like a seductive trail of breadcrumbs.
