Metallic–The metallic cake trend is quickly rising.  Using edible 24 kt gold leaf , sliver griller or even bronze metallic air brush can give you that old Hollywood glam or art deco feel.

Naked–This design is wonderful for those looking for a rustic, natural concept.  Using wild flowers, succulents and berries to decorate is most popular.

Hand Painted–Hand painted wedding cakes are also growing popularity.  The cake becomes a canvas to be painted with the details that tie in all your wedding elements and is a “one of a kind” piece of art on display for your wedding day.

Dessert Bars–Many brides are opting for a smaller stature wedding cake and a dessert bar for the majority of their guests.  These are fun and the bride and groom can really share their favorite flavors with the guests including pies, assorted bars, cheesecake, desert shots and yes, the popular cupcake.

Grooms Cake–The wedding cake is generally a representation of the theme and feel of the wedding with ruffles, lace and flowers, probably not his favorite things.  It is becoming popular to also have a grooms cake that represents his likes.  From sports, hunting, fishing and even favorite video games can be represented.  Grooms cakes are generally presented at the rehearsal dinner or at the wedding reception.  If the cake is a surprise, you might want to consider creating a gift box without a bottom to place over the cake.
