MAGGIE SOTTERO DESIGNS www.maggiesottero.comIf possible, start your wedding gown shopping 9 – 12 months before your wedding.  Start looking through styles and trends while you’re planning the theme and feel of your wedding.  Once you have a feel for the style of gown you may like, make your appointment at a bridal salon.

Make your appointment count! Plan to spend a couple of hours and try on several different styles – you may arrive thinking a sweetheart neckline with a trumpet skirt is the dress for you and then hate it once it’s on!  Your bridal consultant will chat with you about your price range and the styles you like.  She will pull dresses for you to try on that fit into your budget and your style.  If there is something you don’t like – be sure to let her know!

MAGGIE SOTTERO DESIGNSwww.maggiesottero.comOnce your gown has been selected, the bridal shop will take all of your measurements.  Your information will be sent to the gown designers so they can start to make your dress. Your wedding gown may be the one thing you wear in your life that is made just for you!

Once your gown has arrived, they bridal shop will set up a fitting.  The day of your fitting, bring the shoes and undergarments you plan on wearing the day of your wedding.  The seamstress will help you get your dress on and see where adjustments will need to be made to make sure your dress fit you best.

Your final fitting will be scheduled a  few weeks out from your wedding day. This is a good time to bring in the jewelry you plan on wearing, as well as your shoes and lingerie so you may see how the entire ensemble looks!
