I don’t know how many times I get asked, “What are other brides doing for their bridal parties?” The first thing that pops into my head is why do you care about other brides? We live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota! Granted it is the largest city in South Dakota; it is still small in comparison to other cities in the US. So why would you want your wedding to be like other brides in our small Mid-western city?

Nowadays, brides are taking into consideration which dresses and colors flatter their bridesmaids and which dresses are more affordable. Most brides still choose the same color and style of dress. Some brides choose dresses and colors hoping that their bridesmaids will be able to wear them again. I have seen brides choose all different colors but the same style of dress. Some brides choose the same color, but a different style. Other brides just say a color range and let the girls choose their own dress. 

There are not written rules that brides have to follow. After all this is your wedding, have fun with it, be original!
