Plans for the Perfect Wedding Start With the Beach | BeachGuide.comYou’re getting married.  Congratulations!  Now the work begins…

Are you smitten with the idea that you’ll be taking the same vows and undergoing the same ceremony as your parents, grandparents and beyond?  Or do you prefer to be bold and different and have a ceremony that is distinctly you?  Consider yourselves as a couple.  Where do you feel most comfortable?  What fits with your personality?  Ideally, after some careful thought, this alone can decide your plans from here on out.

Hey, not everyone’s the same.  Maybe you and your fiancé have different feelings on the issue?  If you need some additional factors to consider, here’s a brief list of some of the other major deal breakers:

Guests – Unless you have your heart set on eloping, chances are good that you’ll want some guests there to celebrate with you.  Do you want a huge blowout with everyone you know or would you prefer a more intimate gathering with a few select friends and family?

Budget – Cost is a tossup.  Depending on the extravagance of your plans, either wedding has the potential to be the less expensive option.  Contacting a wedding planner and a travel agent could help you better determine the costs involved for each choice. Remember: The potential cost to travel is going to have a pretty significant impact on your guests as well.

Control – Do you want to be involved in every aspect of the wedding plans or would you just assume someone else handle the details?  Of course, your level of control can vary for both choices, but for a destination wedding, you may not even have the option to be super involved since you’re working from a distance.

Expectations – Have you had a vision of your wedding day since you were young?  Would you be disappointed if you did something outside that vision?
