Wondering if a destination wedding is the right way for you and your honey to say “I Do?” Take our fun and fast quiz then match up your answers to see what solutions our specialists have for you.
Home-Body or Jet-Setter? How important is distance when you’re planning a trip?
- I really prefer short trips. I don’t even have a passport!
- I’ll fly anywhere that doesn’t involve jetlag in my future.
- As long as I have my iPod and a book, long flights don’t bother me.
- I may personally be the reason they keep tightening the screws on Frequent Flyer perks.
Intimate Affair or Grand Gala? What will the size of your wedding be?
- Just me and my honey, and maybe our immediate family.
- Our family and closest friends.
- Lots of family and friends-we like a good party!
- Everyone we’ve ever met will get an invitation.
Just the Basics or Anything Goes? When you envision the accessories for your wedding (flowers, cake, decorations, etc), what do you see?
- We plan on keeping it really simple and making everything ourselves.
- Modest but elegant, with some unusual flowers and special touches.
- A good portion of our budget has been devoted to flowers and decorations.
- Everything is being imported from around the world, and a famous confectioner is designing my cake.
Casual or Fabulous? What will you wear to your bachelorette party?
- My favorite jeans and a white tee-we’re going wild at our old college pub!
- Something that sparkles-we’re going dancing and plan to turn every guy’s head!
- Black slacks and a cashmere sweater-we’re playing it cool at my favorite Jazz bar.
- A D&G little black dress and Manalo’s-we’re on the list for that hot new club.
Budget-Savvy or Money Is No Object? When it comes to your wedding budget:
- A little needs to go a long way!
- We’re splurging a bit for sure, but we’ve still got to keep an eye on that Visa bill.
- We’re no Rockefellers, but we’ve got a lot to work with.
- “We think Tom & Katie’s wedding was quaint”.
What do your answers say about you? If you picked…
Mostly 1: While you don’t care to globe-trot, your vision actually fits well with a Destination Wedding. A simple, intimate affair with a few close relatives fits the bill when it comes to affordability. There are plenty of domestic options, such as Savannah, Georgia & Washington, DC that can provide a lovely back-drop for a Destination Wedding.
Mostly 2: A Destination Wedding not too far away sounds like the option for you. While you don’t want your wedding to get too complicated, you still want something a little different. The places you’ve already been may appeal to your wedding vision -familiarity with flair!
Mostly 3: Larger Event=Larger Budget. Pulling off a Destination Wedding with a bigger crowd and all the fanfare can be tricky, especially if you aren’t willing to forsake some of the more intimate details. Budget flexibility is key if you don’t want to sacrifice size and detail for travel costs.
Mostly 4: The only thing stopping you is finding a place you haven’t been that can accommodate everyone you know, especially if money is no object!
Honeymoon Specialist Tip: When planning your destination wedding, narrow down your destination based on a preferred region, wedding size, family or adult-oriented location and other important details. Also remember to advise your Honeymoon Specialist of any particular requests you have, or any surprises you would like to arrange for your spouse, such as dinner for two on the beach, champagne breakfast, helicopter ride, etc.
