As a newly engaged woman, one of the first things you’re probably thinking about is finding that perfect dress! You’ve dreamed of how you would look on this day forever and won’t settle for anything less than perfect.
Here are some tips to help you find that dress you’ve been imagining for years:
- First and Foremost, Set a Budget! – Splurging on the dress is ok to do as long as you can afford it! You don’t want to have to cut back on other things down the road because you spent too much on your dress. Set a limit for the maximum amount you’re willing to spend on your dress and stick to it!
- Make sure you’re comfortable – There are hundreds of bridal gowns available, be sure you choose one that you’re comfortable in. The dress maybe absolutely stunning but if you’re miserable in it you’ll be hating it by the end of the night. Keep in mind that gowns with lots of layers and beads tend to be very heavy!
- Don’t Overwhelm Yourself – If you go to 20 different bridal shops you won’t remember which dress was where or what you liked or didn’t like about each place. Start with visiting at least 3 bridal shops and see how that goes. If you haven’t found anything you like then try a few more. You don’t have to hit every shop in town!
- Choose your helpers wisely – Not everyone has to love your dress as much as you do. Be sure you pick the people who are coming with you wisely. Everyone is going to have his or her own opinion but remember yours is the only one that matters! If allow in the bridal store, it might not be a bad idea to bring a camera so you can look back at them later when you’re alone.
- Start early! – Be sure to start early when shopping for your dress. You don’t want to wait too long and settle on the first dress that you find. You want to give yourself enough time to look at all your options. Also don’t be afraid to try on styles you’ve never really been that fond of. You might be surprised how different styles look on you!
