Four out of five brides say they would like to lose weight and get in shape before their big day. The number one problem holding people back from losing weight and getting in shape is information overload: high fat/low fat, eat this/eat that, do Pilates/do free weights. Who do you listen to? There are over 4,000 diet and exercise books out there and they all seem to contradict each other.

There are 5 keys to fat loss success. If you are missing any one of these 5 keys, you may not be 100% satisfied with how you look on your wedding day.

  1. Nutrition – 70% of your fat loss success comes down to what you eat. You need a balance of high quality protein, carbohydrates, and fat. This is the most important of all 5 keys so make sure you have a good plan in place.
  2. Supplementation – There is no magic pill, powder, or shake that is going to solve all of your problems. Supplement means “in addition to” your nutrition. If you are skipping breakfast, we simply recommend a high quality meal replacement shake. If anyone ever tells you to not eat and do the pills instead … run!
  3. Resistance training – Let’s dispel the myth about getting big and bulky right away here. You don’t have the hormones to be able to do that so it is not possible. To achieve that lean, toned look you are going for, you have to do some type of resistance training.
  4. Cardiovascular exercise – I know everyone tells you if you want to lose weight you have to do tons of cardio. The truth is that cardio strengthens your heart and lungs and make your body more efficient in burning fat. Short duration, high intensity cardio is best.
  5. Coaching – Do you have a clear plan of how to reach your health and fitness goals? If not, you need someone to help design a plan and, more importantly, help you stick to it. Accountability is the number one reason people get started then quit.
