At this point, I’m sure you know, wedding costs can add up! So, when it comes to deciding on gifts, you need to consider 3 things: who do you all buy for, what do you give, and when do you give them their gifts?
Who to buy for?
We realize you may not have all of these very important positions in your wedding, but here is a gift checklist of who you should buy for:
- Each Other!
- Bridesmaids & Groomsmen
- Ushers
- Flower Girl & Ring Bearer
- Parents / In-laws
- Grandparents
- Personal Attendants
- Host & Hostess
- Greeters
- Guest Book Attendant
- Flower Pinner
- Musicians & Vocalists
- Officiant
- Readers
- Punch Servers
- Cake Cutter & Servers
What to buy?
What to give your very important people comes down to what your budget is. Gifts can vary from jewelry, gift cards, to personal frames for bridesmaids; or ties, money clips, or flasks for the groomsmen. Gifts for your wedding party may be all the same, but consider personalizing them with engraving or different colors for each person!
When to give?
Gifts for your bridesmaids may be presented at the bridesmaids’ luncheon, the rehearsal dinner, or before the wedding as everyone is getting ready. The groom typically gives presents to his groomsmen at the bachelor party or at the rehearsal dinner. Give your parents their gifts at a time when you are alone together so it is more personal and special. If you and your groom wish to exchange gifts, you can do so the night before the wedding or on your wedding night. Consider doing this alone as it will feel more intimate. A personal note with the gift always adds a special touch and something your spouse will remember forever.
