Maybe you want to make a grand entrance to your grand affair. I mean, everyone would like to arrive at their wedding in a white horse-drawn carriage right? No, well there’s been some sweet upgrades since the 1800’s. There are limousines of all types and sizes and even colors!
And if your venue is separate from your reception, don’t worry, you won’t have to borrow your uncle’s VW Van. There are plenty of roomy options now, some places even have trolleys, small and big busses.
Here are some tips on what to consider when planning transportation:
1.What is your actual transportation budget (makes it easier to answer the below questions)?
2.What’s it needed for…
-Bride arrival only?
-Bride & Groom arrival (include transport to photos, reception venue, departure, back to wedding venue-original parking destination?)
-Bride, Groom & Bridal Party arrival (include transport to photos, reception venue, back to wedding venue-original parking destination?)
-Transportation from the wedding venue to reception venue (back to wedding venue-original parking destination?
-Find out if it’s okay to leave your vehicles at the wedding venue if you are transported to other destinations.
3.When talking to transportation vendor be sure to ask…
-What is available for my needs and date?
-How many can vehicles comfortable accommodate?
-What is cost, are there any fees, mileage or gratuities included in the fee? Are there overtime charges? If there’s an hourly rate, does clock start when they leave base or when passengers are picked up? Can driver come back later to transport?
-What amenities does the rate include? What’s available for amenities?
4.Lastly, think about designating people to drive parents/grandparents/out-of-town guests to and from destinations. It’s not mandatory, but it can be a nice gesture!
