Meeting with a florist can be easier if you can be prepared. Here are some helpful tips:
What to plan for
- Bride Bouquet
- Bridesmaid Bouquets
- Flower Girl
- Ceremony Venue/Decor
- Reception Decor
- Reception Centerpieces
- Corsages for Moms/GrandMoms
- Helper Corsages
- Groom Boutinniere
- Other Men Boutonnieres (including ring bearer)
- Miscellaneous
Things to consider
- Bring pics of flowers you like to floral interview
- Bring pics of ceremony & reception sites if possible
- Bring swatches of colors and pics of dresses for coordinating floral
- See if anyone in your wedding party has specific allergies
- Don’t incorporate strongly scented flowers in reception centerpieces
- Have flowers delivered as late as possible or plan to have to refrigerate until use
- Try to avoid touching flowers as much as possible, oils from fingers can brown them
- Make sure venues and florists have specific deliver/setup instructions and contact names and numbers
- See if bouquet or ceremony floral can be reused in arrangements for the reception if you need to save money.
