Besides the convertible wedding gown, there are other options to get that two-dress look and to help alter your gown from classy, ceremony-ready to fun and sassy for your reception.
Taren Korkow at the Bridal Gallery in Sioux Falls, SD, gave us a few ideas to “spice up” your wedding gown:
- Jackets/Shawls: Start with a more conservative look with a jacket or shawl for your church ceremony or your outdoor wedding where you might want a bit more cover up. Then remove for a sleeker look at your reception. Many designers coordinate to match jackets and shawls with the gowns and sometimes even comes as a detail option for the gown.
- Sashes/Belts: Color sashes and beaded-jewel belts are very popular options that can give your gown a wow effect. If your gown has the option of a belt, be sure to note if the belt is sewn to the dress or detachable. (Top sash colors include black, eggplant and lavender.)
- Detachable Straps: Straps can really transform the look of your gown into a new style. Plus many opt to add the straps for the reception/dance for extra confidence on the dance floor.
Beside the gown, other ideas to consider to change your wedding look from classy to sassy with little effort would be adding, removing or just switching out your headpiece, jewelry, flower accents and shoes!
