Weddings represent new beginnings and what’s more inspiring after a long winter than the inviting color of sunshine at your wedding? Yellow carries the promise of a positive future. This happy color and its many shades are making its way back into weddings. Here are a few tips about incorporating yellow into your theme and making your wedding day shine:
- Brides loving shades of yellow should consider these type flowers for their wedding: roses, daisies, daffodils, cymbidium orchids, tulips, chrysanthemum, freesia and calla lilies. Be sure to choose a flower that will be in season during your wedding and naturally blooms in the shade of yellow you want to use throughout your wedding.
- Beside flowers, use delightful yellow details in your décor and centerpieces such as filling clear vases with lemons or slicing them into thin circles to line the walls of the vase for centerpieces. Use table runners placed in the center of the tables to highlight your centerpieces and create visual interest.
- Instead of serving punch, serve lemonade displayed in a large, clear container to show off it’s illuminating color.
- Have a yellow wedding cake!
- Yellow bridesmaids’ and flower girls’ dresses can be fresh and flirty. Some, however say they do not look good in yellow. Maybe opt for coordinating softer shades of yellow for your bridesmaids and then add a yellow sash or beaded-jewel belt to the dress.
- Black and white, blue or green are great colors to accent your bright hues of yellow.
