The hot (and we mean hot) new trend for brides is a boudoir photo shoot for pictures to give to her groom on their wedding day. Although very little is worn, the photos are still classy and are timeless for years to come. Many shy away from this idea because, let’s face it, taking provocative pictures with a photographer can be intimidating. Lucky for you we have some tips to help this experience run smoothly.
Pinterest it
- Anything and everything can be found on Pinterest, including boudoir poses. Do some internet surfing to find what you like so you have a general idea of what you would like to do.
You don’t need to splurge
- There’s no need to purchase expensive lingerie or shoes if you don’t want to. A simple bed sheet or your man’s button up works wonders.
Hire the best
- A great photographer makes all the difference in the world. They are able to get all the best angles and, most importantly, make you feel comfortable. Some photographers will wrap this service into your wedding package.
Find your glam team
- Some boudoir packages include hair and make-up. This will help you feel your best and provide excellent photos. However, if you want to do it all yourself, do a little extra – tease your hair a little more, where a little extra makeup, go a little bit more bold! This allows your features to pop more in the photos.
Loosen up
- When heading to the photo shoot avoid wearing a tight bra, socks, jeans, or anything that would leave an indentation on your skin. This detail can easily be overlooked, but is just as important (plus this allows you to be more comfortable!)
Options, options, options
- Bring a variety of outfits, lingerie, robes, accessories, etc. Yes, you may not wear them all but your photographer will know what looks great on camera and you never know if something might rip.
Warm up to it
- Everyone has insecurities! Chances are it might feel uncomfortable at first but your photographer will help with this. If you don’t want to smile at first, or even look at the camera, then don’t. Do what you need to do to warm up, but we can promise you, in the end you’ll feel great about yourself!
